HOW MUCH ARE DISNEY WORLD TICKETS? [2025]

FEBRUARY 5, 2025 | AAA

For many Americans, a family trip to Walt Disney World is more than just a vacation; it's an experience gift worth months of planning and saving. The options for places to stay and things to do are seemingly endless, but most people start by planning their trip based on how much Disney World tickets are.

Walt Disney World and Disneyland employ a variable pricing system, meaning ticket prices vary by date and park. You’ll also need to consider whether it’s best to get multi-day tickets and whether you need a Park Hopper ticket or the Genie+ add-on.

Figuring out all these variables can be overwhelming. We’ve gathered all the ticket information you need so you can start planning the perfect Disney World experience for your family. Once you know what to expect in terms of park ticket pricing, check out AAA Tickets for ticket discounts.

Note: Disney World ticket prices are current as of January 2025 and are subject to change.

  • The week of July 4th
  • Halloween
  • Thanksgiving week
  • Three-day weekends like Labor Day and Memorial Day
  • June through early August

One-day ticket prices also include an automatic park reservation, so there’s no need to make Disney World Park reservations and purchase tickets separately.

Unless you live in Florida and can visit the park whenever you want, you’ll probably want to purchase multi-day tickets so you can experience everything. Fortunately, the price per day for multi-day tickets decreases the longer you stay.

When you purchase multi-day tickets, you’ll need to make reservations for the park you wish to visit. Because park availability fills up quickly, you should make your reservations as soon as you purchase your tickets. Reservations can be made through the Disney Park Pass system.

Disney Genie+ and Lightning Lane Prices

Genie+ pricing: Starts at $15 per ticket per day

Lightning Lane pricing: Prices vary by date and attraction

While they aren’t tickets, Disney Genie+ and Lightning Lane are add-ons that can make your experience more enjoyable. You need to purchase them by day, just like you would a ticket.

With Genie+, you can reserve your place in line just like the old FastPass system. The price for Disney Genie+ varies by date but starts at $25 per day per person, and you can only purchase them once you have entered the park.

For more popular rides like the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance ride at Disney’s Hollywood Studios or Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT, you can also purchase the individual Lightning Lane service. This allows you to schedule the time you want to ride instead of standing in a virtual queue like with Genie+.

The individual Lightning Lane price varies by day and specific attraction. Like Disney Genie+, you can only make individual Lightning Lane purchases once you have entered the park for the day.

Disney World Water Park Ticket Prices

Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon are places to beat the Florida heat and spend family time outdoors. Currently, Disney water parks still use a standard ticket price. Tickets are a standard $74 for ages 10 and up and $68 for children ages 2-9. Children under 3 get in for free.

Disney water parks are subject to annual closings for maintenance and hours can be impacted by weather.

Disney World Ticket Prices for Florida Residents

Ticket price range: Starting at $103 per day

One of the perks of living in Florida is a discount on Walt Disney World Resort tickets.

Florida residents can purchase four-day tickets for 40 percent off the sale price and 30 percent on three-day tickets. Florida residents are eligible to purchase Special Florida Resident Discover Disney Tickets, which offer two options:

  • 3-Day Discover Disney Ticket at $73 per day

How To Save Money on Disney World Tickets

While you may see many deals online for Disney World ticket discounts, be wary of anything not sold by a Disney-authorized seller. You don’t want to get to the park only to find out you purchased fraudulent tickets.

Here are a few ways to save money on your Disney World tickets.

1. Look for Discounted Disney World Tickets

Currently, Disney only offers discounts to Florida residents, as well as current and retired military personnel and their families (up to five people).

AAA offers discounted Disney World tickets. As a AAA member, you can save on attraction tickets if you purchase through AAA.

Be careful when looking for discounted tickets, though. Only buy through reputable sellers, as many scammers try to take advantage of people purchasing Disney tickets.

A good rule of thumb: If you think a deal is too good to be true, it probably is.

2. Schedule Your Trip for Off-Peak Times

Since there is date-specific pricing for all the parks at Disney World, avoid the most popular dates. These dates generally coincide with American school holidays: spring breaks, summer breaks, three-day weekends, Thanksgiving and winter break. Weekends are also more expensive than weekdays.

To save the most money on your ticket, consider scheduling your trip for the following times:

  • Winter (specifically mid-January to early March)
  • Late April to early May
  • The last two weeks of August
  • Most weekdays in October through early December

3. Purchase Multi-Day Tickets

If you can visit for more than one day, buying multi-day tickets can save you a lot of money. For example, the cheapest ticket to Magic Kingdom is $164 for one day, but a five-day ticket may cost you $122.31 per day, saving you about $42 a ticket.

4. Buy the “Just Right” Ticket

Disney World offers many options, and it can get overwhelming. Think carefully about what is most important to your family and what you can do in a day.

Park Hoppers are a great deal, but it’s also possible to just go to one park a day and have a great time. For example, if you know you have other plans one afternoon and are only going to be in a park for half a day, you don’t need a Park Hopper ticket for that day.

5. Take Your Children Before They Turn 3

There’s a lot of debate about the best age to take your child to Disney World. When will they enjoy it most? When will they get to ride the most rides? How do you handle naptime?

The biggest argument for taking them young may just be an economic one—Disney doesn’t require a ticket for any child under the age of 3. If you’re a family of four and your youngest isn’t three yet, consider going before their third birthday and saving yourself the price of one ticket.

6. Purchase Discounted Disney Gift Cards To Pay for Tickets

Disney allows you to purchase Disney tickets using Disney gift cards, but you can purchase those Disney gift cards at many different retailers that offer deals. Some retail credit cards also allow you to save a set percentage, even on gift card purchases.

For example, a discount store that requires a membership may sometimes sell $100 worth of Disney gift cards for $95. A family of four purchasing five-day Park Hopper tickets for the cheapest day at $701.52 would need about $2,800 in gift cards. With $5 off per $100, those gift cards would save you $140 on your tickets.

7. Use Credit Card Rewards

If you have a credit card with cashback or rewards points that you can redeem, put them toward your trip. However, you’ll need to read the fine print for your specific credit card, as some have blackout dates or don’t work directly with Disney.
